We are looking for a Dutch and English speaking Customer Support Associate at INSHUR. You will work in or around Amsterdam in digital insurance services in various countries including the Netherlands, the US, the UK and, depending on how we expand, in other European countries.

You report to the Customer Operations Manager and you will work with a fun team of 14 colleagues who strive to deliver a world-class service experience to make a real difference in the lives of our customers as INSHUR. Most of our team is based in the UK and in NY - you will be the first Customer Support Associate in the Netherlands. Our Head of Insurance Operations in the Netherlands is available for regular consultation. In addition, we'd love to hear if you're willing to travel to our beautiful UK office in Brighton to meet the rest of the team for your onboarding. A very fun and exciting way to join us!


As a Customer Support Associate, you provide insurance-related and technical support to our customers directly via phone, email and chat. The fulfillment of this role determines the ultimate customer experience and is therefore of great importance for the growth of INSHUR.

We don't have a skills checklist, our recruitment process is much more about aptitude and passion. So don't worry if you haven't used a particular system or don't have all of the skills or experience listed below.

That said, below is a list of skills we believe could make you successful in this role.

  • Handling incoming phone calls, chat and email with insurance related inquiries from our existing customers
  • Responding to all customers in a timely, efficient, courteous and professional manner
  • Work in accordance with the SLAs and KPIs of the Customer Support Team
  • Striving for high customer satisfaction by, among other things, giving our customers the feeling that they are dealing with a person
  • The desire to gain in-depth knowledge of our products and then use this knowledge to answer customer questions
  • The accurate recording of information in policies and in our systems
  • Assisting with (processing) renewals, interim changes and cancellations of insurance policies
  • Being alert to ways to improve our customer experience and showing the initiative to make this happen
  • Performing administrative tasks from time to time and standing in for your colleagues when necessary
  • Have the ambition to continue our international success as an integral part of a growing team

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have a minimum of three years of experience working in a high performing customer service environment
  • Are fluent in English and Dutch
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have experience with Zendesk; experience with customer-oriented Knowledge Bases is an advantage
  • Be able to multitask, prioritize and manage your time effectively
  • Are a team player with the motivation to go the extra mile for your customers
  • Have experience working in a regulated environment
  • Have the ability to adapt to a given situation without compromising standards
  • Has a growth mindset, is open to new ideas, feedback and coaching
  • are available for 40 hours in the period Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 18:00
